Finally - a cake-ful post! this was a project I'd had in mind for a while and finally got the opportunity to do this past weekend. And for those who play Settlers regularly, yes, this is an accurate board for the 4-person game, sans numbers to mess up my lovely decorations!

All of the shaped pieces (bricks, trees, the robber) are made of marzipan with gel food colors. The piped grass and base frosting colors are just standard frosting. I used the caramel-colored turbanado sugar for the desert (dessert?) piece. I even trimmed the cupcakes into hexagon pieces, but once they were frosted it was kinda hard to see.
