Proving Franklin wrong
Since it's been a fairly sparse few weeks of baking, I've had time to ponder acquiring a new hobby. The problem with other hobbies I've tried in the past & enjoyed comes down to two words: Taka & Neko. Knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch... anything involving wiggly yarn in some way is a challenge. So, I bought myself a gee-tar! I'm MILES away from giving performances any time soon, so don't even bother. I've got about 3 chords down, so technically I *could* start a punk band. I'm just missing someone with rhythm (as I have none) and a moderately narcissistic front-person with a rapidly-progressing drug habit who later in life will write a book about it. The only present down-side is that the index, middle & ring fingers on my left hand are killing me... I'm at the "I've-developed-blisters-but-not-quite-callouses" stage.
On a completely different note, we're having a great thunder & lightning storm right now. In September. In California. Weird, eh? We so rarely get them, I may have to take advantage of this one by running outside to the top of the hill by my office and watching from a better vantage point while I carry a metal umbrella. Gotta go...

Go learn "Horse with No Name." It's two chords, and only one finger moves! Easy Peasy!
